Island Flame – Album Review
Island Flame — Tamer
Island Flame is an album shaped by lived experience rather than trends. Drawing from London, Cyprus, and California, Tamer blends Turkish roots with reggae warmth and Latino influences to create something that feels global yet deeply personal.
As a Turkish Cypriot and the face of Turk Beats Radio, this album resonates strongly with me. Tracks like Kıbrıs Güzeli celebrate identity with reggae rhythms and Turkish lyrics, while standouts such as My Star and Blue Dress reveal emotional depth and songwriting maturity.
One of the most touching moments is The Girl from Larnaca, which feels timeless and easy listening, and comes across as a beautiful dedication to his mum and dad. It anchors the album in family, memory, and heritage.
More than just a singer, Tamer writes and produces his own music, giving the album cohesion, honesty, and a strong creative vision from start to finish.
